Endless tundra down below.. Valentin, a friend of mine, an ex-helicoter pilot from Siberia, and a former flight college mate, has just granted an access to his photo-archive. I almost have no words to express how much I appreciate such a deed on his part, and - how excited I am.. He has accomplished an effort of epic proportion, having scanned old negatives. And then he, driven by his good faith, uploaded them on the Internet.

No doubt, we’ve got a chance to enjoy an impressive, a very good quality collection of aviation-related imagery from the Soviet Union time. And it seems he wouldn’t mind to add a great deal of detail commenting on each episode in his collection. He’s been through almost all of it by himself!

Hooking an external load to the sling. He accumulated thousands of hours flying the giant Mil-6 helicopter. I bet he must have tons of stories reflecting on that unique type of ‘bush flying, Siberian style’! I’m looking forward to having a great communication with him soon.
