A news has just come: our ‘babe’, the Tu-154 Reg. ‘RA-85123‘, reappeared at Krasnodar lately. Her sister-ship, RA-85795, is also back to Kuban. They can be seen here, sitting side-by-side on the ramp at Krasnodar airport.
These two planes’ future is yet uncertain. As one guy with a local knowledge hinted, there’s even a ‘moderate’ possibility of situation where the planes might be grounded forever. At the moment they are said to be stripped off the seats, and some equipment is also being taken off. Although, nobody knows for what reason.
If all goes exactly as they say, - boy, what a sad perspective for such a ‘fresh’ airframe.. If you go back through the thread of posts related to the RA-85123’s ‘career path’ which started in 2006, when the ship was rolled out, as a brand new, from the Samara Aircraft Manufacturing plant, and ferried to Krasnodar to join the ‘Air Lines of Kuban‘, you could certainly feel how ‘volatile’ that career has been so far..
