Our Russian friends are leaving Calgary tomorrow.

They liked Kananaskis Country and Elbow Falls. We are so happy they liked this part of Alberta, - sure, how wouldn’t they? - and also, it seemed they wanted to learn more about both - the province and the whole country. Obviously, being overwhelmed with information, they’ve sort of ‘put themselves at risk of being ’swept away with an avalanche of all kind of new stuff’ :)

So, yesterday we went to Kananaskis Country. I challenged Max by putting a question if he ever heard such a country’s name. He said ‘it does pretty sure ring the bell’, and then, after a slight prompt, he extracted a piece of knowledge about ‘G-8′ meeting from his memory.. ‘OK, - when?’, he asked in his turn. ‘Bits me’, I continued, but was not too far from giving the right date, as I kept going, ‘Summer, 2001.. or 2002.. oh, well, - a few years ago..’ :)

In fact, we didn’t reach that part of the Kananaskis where the G-8 ‘big shots’ met in 2002. Which was OK. Not a big deal. Our guests didn’t look as if they ‘were dying about a chance to see the place at any cost’.

We have had our own ‘G-4′ meeting here in Kananaskis. And tomorrow they’ll go back to Russia, ‘from Kananaskis with love’.
