There is always a chance to see something interesting at the Calgary International Airport. Less than two weeks ago I ’spotted’ English Vickers VC-10..

..and yesterday it appeared again

Well, it may be said with regard to any airport though. But as long as I start my pairings from Calgary, I respectively collected more information on what’s going on around our airport.

Just a quick notice that should be put in with regard to Black Sea and what’s going on down there: a Black Sea resort town of Gelendjik is hosting an airshow which is known as ‘Gelendjik Hydro Aviation Salon‘.
They run in once in every two years, in the early days of September, and the next one is going to be in 2008.

What do you think you see on this picture? - Mountains, of course. Sorry, color-wise this image wasn’t perfect, and I converted it into B&W. You might think ‘Hey, he’s got tons of Rockies’ images, what the reason he’s trying to sell this one?’

Since yearly 90s Boeing’s got a pretty strong foothold in Russia. And it is getting only stronger. Not even to mention a recent news of Aeroflot announced it wants to buy a bunch of 787s from Boeing.

And it is not only the flag carrier that is looking for the Boeing product. (In fact, with regard to the Dreamliner, Aeroflot was not the first one who finalized its future fleet consideration by electing 787s. S7, a second largest carrier in Russia, was ahead of Aeroflot striking a deal with Boeing)

I was heading towards Gate 48 in the concourse D to join my crew for the first pairing in this month, and all of a sudden I noticed something that made me stop. It was a view of the plane looming outside on the tarmac, bridged to Gate 43.
