Sukhoi SuperJet 100-95 was rolled out at Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft manufacturing plant on September, 26th. It seems, a pretty viable project is developing in the `background of the globe`:)
Sukhoi is a world known name for creation of combat aircraft and top-notch aerobatic planes.
We expect a few images from the place to come soon.

Nice.
This will definitely add a stir to bombardier/embraer battle.
If Sukhoi is able to produce an airplane that conforms to international standards with respect to safety and emissions, they can very well compete with the big boys especially on price. All it would take is one major purchase from a foreign company and the rest will follow. There’s also the issue of breaking that silly image in the public’s mind about Russian airplanes. Oh well, we’ll see.
What do you think Sergey, can Sukhoi break into the Western market with their new toy?

Hey, Evgeni,
Sorry, I’ve been busy.
Russian aircraft… As for this Sukhoi - I think, it may be possible. I believe, in a case of this plane a new philosophy has been applied (broad cooperation with recognized international manufacturers, and project’s focus on the outer markets from it’s scratch), and - we’ll see. However, ‘the proof in the pudding’
As for ‘perception’ of the Russian aircraft in the West.. See, here’s just a tiny example: there’s a post where I’m ‘advertising’ an article in the ‘Canadian Aviator’ magazine, it is about An-2. Would recommend this article to reading. There are clues to understanding some aspects of this ‘issue’ in this article, I think.
Talk to you,
