Hey, Tristan,
remember, a question somehow popped up as we discussed the Helios Air accident, and it was with regard the ‘Passenger Oxygen On’ light. You asked, whether there’s such a light in the 737’s flight deck.
The answer was ‘Yes’, and here you can see it
See, the light is ON, but no worries - it is only because I had pressed it, - as we always do in order to check the bulbs in particular annunciators.
Then, you just kept going like: ‘OK, should it GO OFF (or, COME ON) when the masks for some reason drop down off their containers?’
And it is a positive answer to this question too:
i. e., whatever reason for masks to drop off - either the system was activated by the pilot, or it happened automatically - the light should GO OFF (or, COME ON :).
It is my opinion that ‘Boeing-737-to-pilot’ interface is fair, friendly, and pretty straightforward. But as we can see it, sometimes the worst can happen.
Anyway, thank you for asking these questions, they just had me getting my nose into the book once more, - which helped to brush up the knowledge of airplane’s technicalities:)
Or, if you are interested to know something about Tu-154 - go have a look at this, or - ASK THE QUESTION.
Talk to you,

Hi, Tristan,
Have a look at the post again. I have just corrected a tiny bit of it. Oh, boy, it is English, - ‘GO OFF, or COME ON’
Another illustration of the fact that Human Factors are by far more influential in the whole thing of flying.
Cultural Clashes, and - Language barriers - that’s what this site all about!
