The Planes’ Names (’Pushkin’, ‘Babushka’, etc :)

Darn! - just unable be ‘too serious’: when I was writing previous post on the topic of ‘Boeing in Russia’ it happened to me again: at some point I ‘had given in’ and deviated from a ’serious tone’, and, instead of giving some ‘facts and figures’ to the audience of visitors that probably wanted to see them in order to find out if there’s any proof of an ‘allegedly growing Boeing’s presence in Russia’, I began to talk about planes’ names, and making fun of ‘Boeing the Pushkin’… Well, isn’t it a good proof ?
But today I recalled one recent episode, and it came to me I should share it ‘to top up’ the topic. It is about another plane bearing a really funny name
We bumped into this Norseman in Oshkosh, and it was such a nice surprise because we came to the AirVenture in Wisconsin right after the Norseman Festival in Ontario where I memorized the plane’s look very well after two day of hanging around them, and now I could recognize any Norseman very quickly.
But even more surprising for us was an attention we suddenly got from the plane’s owner. As he could hear us speaking Russian, he stopped talking to other folks around and promptly switched to us - speaking Russian! Oh, it was ‘Russian with a great deal of Montana accent’
We probably didn’t look as folks willing to buy the plane, but its story told by the owner ‘went really well’
(to be continued…)
