Chicago. Bird’s eye view. Boeing building at focus. Bets are that talking of all folks occupying offices in ’some’ of these downtown Chicago highrisings, there’s a group that might be found here, and there’s something special you may say about this group: they are in possession of… ‘unusually extended knowledge of a place called Verkhnyaya Salda, - that’s the name name of a town, which is way smaller than Chicago, and its location is thousands miles away, in Ural region of Russia.

And, well, - probably, you could make such a bet with respect to only one building specifically..

Boeing’s heahquarters in Chicago

and ask - ‘why?

No, it’s not because I have a ‘gut feeling of a seasoned gambler’ :)

I read a tip in a newspaper, that’s that simply.

“Business Ticker” of Globe reported Boeing titanium deal with Russian VSMPO-Avisma We flew ‘deadhead’ to Montreal, and I browsed ‘ a copy of the ‘Globe’. There was an article in a business section with reporting on the ongoing negotiations aimed to strike a deal between Boeing and a Russian concern called VSMPO-Avisma to create a joint venture for production of 800 tonnes of titanium forging a year. So, if I ever to fly the ‘Dreamliner’, I should know some of its parts are forged from titanium mined in Verkhnyaya Salda :)

‘Interesting’, I though. We have recently been to Chicago, and all tour guides point at the Boeing headquarters building the company moved to not too far ago.

(to be continued..)
