I should tell you, we were still under influence of the Norseman Festival in Red Lake - this probably explains a great deal of ’sensitivity’ that would inevitably
make us deviate from the route we were going to whatever spot any airplane looking capable to take off from the water was parked at.
Of course, the Seawind was not the only hydro-plane in Oshkosh. Perhaps, it was one of the ‘fanciest’. But you could see a lot of old proven aircraft designs, - either land planes on the floats, or ‘dedicated’ amphibs.
These two are both Beavers. The right one was retrofitted with a turbine engine, and now we’ve got the ‘Turbo-Beaver’. On the right picture below is Husky A-IB. And further down you can see two ‘retro planes’ of Grumman make.
My wife’s heart certainly belonged to the amphibian planes. And no wonder why, - look at this baby:

- isn’t it cute?
Oh, I tried to ‘google’ the plane’s registration - N6356K, and see what it came up with.
But apparently, she liked this one even more
We were not the only ones attracted by this plane
It’s owner, a very nice gentleman from the Great Lakes area flew in to Oshkosh with his son, and he had a minute to give us a ‘crash course’ on seaplane ‘basics’, such as what are technicalities and trade-offs if you compare the land planes on floats with ‘dedicated’ amphibs.
Shortly after they left, and we watched their departure for a while. They left us with many questions too. To find the answers we went to the AirVenture’s seaplane base.
And here she thought she found an answer!
To be continued..

Tom,
what a surprise to see you here, - thank you very much for visiting!
That’s true, we are really enjoying ADVANTAGES of living here, for if you see them, understand them - they certainly are to your favour.
Freedom is the GREATEST one, superior to all. I often heard from Canadians themselves that, “many of us just don’t care, or appreciate what kind of life they have compared to lives in other parts of the world, and take everything for granted”.
I don’t know, ‘how many Canadians of this kind’ are around us, but it would be sad if this society’s going ‘to turn spoiled’ one day.
My humble input into this society, - through this blog, I mean - help ‘prevent this ’spoiling thing from ever happening’:)
I’ll try to do it ‘gently’, and with fun (that’s the way, and I adore it, - or, ‘I’LL BE FIRED!’) Not always POLITCORRECTLY, maybe, but you shouldn’t expect much ‘refined politcorectness’ from a ‘hick born in the Borat’s homeland‘
My dad was a great role model for me, - Soviet political system didn’t corrupt a tiny piece of his soul, and I learned from him a great lesson of ‘critical perception of reality’..
Having said that, I would like to wish all of us “be yourself, and no matter what they say”.
Thank you very much again, and you are welcome to visit Clshmaker’s corner any time,
Cheers,
S.
