OK, off we go..

It’s going to be a long journey, - the one to Red Lake, Ontario.

Vacation time, and we are planning the trip across half of the country to see the Norseman Festival.

No, we are not going to fly over to the place, we’ll drive. Down East, on the Trans Canada, and then, immediately past the tiny place called Vermilion Bay (some 50 mi East of Kenora) we’ll take the Road 105, all the way up to Red Lake. In order ‘not to get lost’ in the vast wilderness across the Canadian Shield - which almost entirely is a mix of land, water, and forest Somewhere over the area lkofthewo1.jpg

- exactly as we do on our 737s - we’ll be using GPS navigation system of our ‘Oddya’.

Odyssey is loaded with fancy stuff - the GPS navigation system. Our ‘Oddya’ is going to become a prominent traveler - exactly as that guy from a famous Greek myth

Oh, it is becoming a long story - how I fell in love with Norseman one day - and at last I’m going to check it out, and, probably, take a ride on the real plane.

Here’s the beauty

Noorduyn Norseman - I fell in love with this plane at once

It’s funny, as we drove back home from our trip to Whitecourt, we stopped by at a local RC model club in Rocky Mountain House.

And here I noticed another ‘reminder’ that we would be going to see the ’stuff’ soon

I’m excited :)

Cheers,

P.S.

Eric flew Beech-18s on floats They also advertise rides on the Beech-18 during festival. Eric (RA-85123 Fan Club Member) sent me this picture where he stays beside the Beech-18 on floats. He flew this type many ears ago. Wonder, if this particular baby on the picture is still around entertaining such ‘dummies’ like ourselves? :)
