Let’s have Beriev try to do the Mr. Mars’ job.

For example, - I didn’t, in my case, - I rather enjoyed it
, when I found myself sitting in the 737NG’s right seat one year after I made my ‘farewell flight’ on the Tu-154’s left nest with Aeroflot.
I recalled it immediately when I was reading an article about the venerable Martin Mars planes would be retired after the 45-year service in the firefighting.
It is amazing how the world has changed in the last couple decades. Former Tupolev (not only ‘civilian variants’ of this make!) pilots are flying Boeing aircraft in the US and Canada. Bombardier planes now fly in the sky over the former Soviet republics on the regular commercial service. And many other interesting things are going on at present.
Wouldn’t it be a sort of ‘fitting into the trend’ - to set up a trial for the Beriev amphibian, to arrange a season of firefighting patrol for it out of the Sproat Lake in the Vancouver Island?
I could come up as a ‘broker’ for such a ‘deal’
, - just think about it:
- I’m able to functionally communicate in both languages;
- I’ve toured both planes’ flight decks (lots of grounds to call me already an ‘expert’!
- and I’m a right person to make contacts through -
a few days of networking would be enough to arrange a direct communication between two sides: for your information, I’ve got a contact in Beriev, and second, - it won’t take any effort to get hold of a former WestJet pilot, a Mars captain in the TimberWest flight operation.
Let’s give it a shot, guys!
Well, as it always turns, officers that normally sit under ‘mahogany desks’ would probably be ones ‘calling final shots’.
Anyway, my offer will be in effect for the indefinite future.
