‘Russian Glass’ in the Cockpit

“Russian Glass… Hmm.. You mean, ‘crystal glass’ from Gus-Khrustalny?”

Well, it depends.. Here’s an example of ‘Glass’ the pilots may find to be interesting to chat on

Tu-204-300 Glasscockpit This is a picture of he TU-204’s (RA-64026) EFIS panels. Apparently, it was taken from the right seat. And hopefully, we’ll be some pictures from the same seat in the near future, for I have just re-established a connection with my old buddy, a former flight college mate who now flies this type of Tupolev in the ‘Vladivostok-Avia’ airline.

On this picture from those years he is a second from the left.

Perhaps, this plane looks already familiar to you, for the originator of the whole model row (Tu-204) has been around for a while.

I’m looking forward to hearing more from my friend. As he says, the plane is not a bad performer, and after we’ve got some spec data from him, we’ll be able to see if it is feasible to use this plane on the Vladivostok-Calgary route, for example. Huh, maybe, via Anchorage:)

As a matter of fact, in the terms of the jet-travel era Vladivostok is not too far away from Calgary:

Great circle distance between Vladivostok and Calgary

4184 nm, and if you are able to output ca. 450 kts of ground speed, you’ll make it from Vladivostok to Calgary for 9 hrs, 18 minutes. And then we’ll see ‘the Primorsky Krai glass’ :)

What do you think?
