You know, it could be boiled down to a typical school math problem: ‘from point A to point B..’, and so on.. ![]()
Yes, - that’s how we operate the planes in air transportation industry.
So, yesterday we started early, from point ‘Calgary’ to the Mexican Pacific resort of Puerto Vallarta. With no delay we took off into the sky, - though in the direction rather opposite to a desired ‘Due South’ course - the RW 34 was in use as a noise abatement prescription for all the ‘birds’ departing early in the morning.
However, this gave me a chance to take a good picture of our beloved city, - when we set off on the due course after the right turn, it nicely opened on my side.
Soon we reached the area of the Rocky Mountains foothills, and eventually, - after the course line had converged with the line of mountains’ ranges, - we flew over the Rockies.
As we progressed along the flight, the landscape beneath was gradually changing.
The Great Salk Lake appeared ahead
I spotted a shadow of our contrail on the lake’s surface
looks like we flew over big mining pits in area around the Great Salt Lake, and further on
Our course line crossed the Utah-Arizona border in the vicinity of the Glen Canyon National Recreational Area. On the left side John (the captain) got a very nice view of the Powell Lake. The scenery he observed was so beautiful that he asked me to give him a camera, - which I did with my pleasure, - and he made a few nice shots of the lake. Thank you, John, for the input.
Check it out, how the area looks on the Google map
As we flew further, on my side we were getting a view of the Grand Canyon area. I do believe these pictures are of the Colorado River, and I’m pretty sure we could find the Marble Canyon on one of them.
Yes, this must be Colorado River..
Time was flying with us. And soon we carried on over Mexico
Aha, that’s where they grow all the hot chili pepper!
After 4 hours and 27 minutes of flying we reached our destination..
.. after landing we had a surprising ‘encounter’ with my ‘compatriot’ - a helicopter built in Russia.
OK, guys, I’m flying tomorrow again,
Talk to you later,
C/
